Hot Dog BBQ
Our goal is to know our neighbors and develop a relationship with them.
Food, Fun and Fellowship - Begun in 2009 with a small group of volunteers, we offer our neighborhood a Hot Dog BBQ dinner each Wednesday evening during the summer. In 2010, we expanded publicity to the neighborhood and added fresh produce from Second Harvest when available.
Our program was given a basketball hoop which the neighborhood kids love. People who have come to the BBQ's now help set up, clean up and even grill the hot dogs on occasion. Some now worship with our partner churches. There is no cost to attend this event and no expectations. It is a Wednesday night staple during the summer. Following dinner, attendees are invited to take a bag of fresh produce home.
How can I volunteer? If you or your group are interested in helping to set up or cook a Hot Dog BBQ, please contact us at 612-964-0881 or our Contact Page.
