Engaged in Community

The Camden Promise Food Shelf has been deeply rooted in the community for many years, showing up not just with food, but with genuine care and consistency. Through warm, intentional relationships, we get to know the families we serve and create a welcoming space where everyone feels seen and valued. By feeding the neighborhood, we meet essential needs with dignity, offering stability and hope during challenging times. More than a pantry, it’s a safe, joyful place to visit — a spot where neighbors connect, support one another, and experience the strength of a community that truly cares.

Federal cuts have emptied Minnesota food shelves. Officials say things could get worse.

Federal cuts to the TEFAP program have slashed more than 1 million pounds of food headed to Minnesota food shelves this summer, forcing pantries like Gethsemane Lutheran Church’s to reduce staff, hours, and the amount of food they can provide. Star Tribune

Here’s how you can help:
• Donate money — food shelves can stretch financial gifts further than donated cans. Star Tribune+1
• Volunteer your time — sorting food, stocking shelves, and supporting distribution make a real difference.
• Organize a food drive — coordinate with a local pantry to collect items like canned protein or rice.

Together, we can step up for our neighbors in need.
