What is a Client Choice Food Shelf?

A Client Choice Food Shelf allows clients to choose what food they want based on a point value system. Each food/item in the Food Shelf has a point value assigned. Most items are 1 point. Families can shop for 7 points per visit. There are no limits on the number of days you can come to shop.

Our goal is to provide food to those in need in the Camden Community of Minneapolis. We serve over 15,000 people a month with over 120,000lbs of food. As a Second Harvest and Minnesota Food Group participating agency, we receive additional donations and are able to purchase bulk discounted food to supplement this initial contribution. We also collect food daily from 5 food rescue locations in the Twin Cities.

What other services are provided at the Food Shelf?

Clients are able to select from donated gently used and new clothing from a Clothes Closet. The clothing comes from the congregation members and their friends. To donate clothing, please contact us at 612-521-5216 or email.

Lunch - A warm meal, dessert, and beverage are offered to the clients for eating on site.

How can I volunteer? Each food distribution requires MANY volunteers on site and many volunteers prior to distribution. To volunteer, please contact us at 612-521-5216 or our email.
